DESCRIPTION:
Crown your Drau cycle path tour with an introductory canoeing experience on the Drau! On this varied, combined bike and canoe trip, you cover a day's stage by canoe and can simply try out this sport. First you cycle from Lienz in East Tyrol on the excellent Drau cycle path past the mountains of the Dolomites through the scenic Drautal. You will soon reach the charming city center of Villach via Spittal/Drau.
In Villach you switch to the canoe and start paddling after a short instruction. On the gently flowing Drau you can marvel at the flora and fauna from the water and enjoy a wonderful view of the Karawanken. After 17 canoe kilometers you get back on your bikes and cycle along the beautiful Wörthersee. Treat yourself to a relaxing bathing break between the well-known holiday resort of Velden and the provincial capital of Klagenfurt.

Lienz - Berg im Drautal, approx. 35 km
You start your bike tour on the beautiful Drau bike path with a wonderful view of the mountains of the Lienz Dolomites. The Roman Museum Aguntum on the outskirts of Lienz attracts visitors and presents the history of the old Roman settlement in an attractive way. In Dellach you can stop at a bay on the Drau or take a short hike in the beautiful Geißlochklamm.

Berg im Drautal - Sachsenburg / Spittal adDrau, approx. 30/40 km
Following the upper Drava Valley, you'll travel partly along the riverbank and partly through small villages. In Greifenburg, adventurous travelers can stop at a climbing park or cool off in the bathing lake. In Spittal/Drau, you should make time to visit the Renaissance Porcia Castle.

Sachsenburg / Spittal adDrau - Villach, approx. 52/40 km
The route continues along the Drau Cycle Path, mostly following the natural riverbank. Halfway along, in Feistritz, you have the opportunity to take a refreshing break at a charming snack bar with its own fruit press. Once you arrive in Villach, the city center with its cafes and shops invites you to stroll and linger.

Canoe tour: Villach - Rosegg/Latschach, approx. 17 km
Today is canoeing day! First, you'll cycle to the Drava River put-in point, where your canoe guide will be waiting for you. After a short briefing, you'll set off paddling and enjoy the gently flowing Drava and its mysterious banks. Along the way, you can take a swimming break at the nearby Silbersee (Silver Lake). Your paddling leg ends at the Rosegg power station, where you'll exchange your canoe for your bicycle and cycle back to your accommodation in Rosegg.

Rosegg/Latschach - Krumpendorf am Wörthersee, approx. 20-50 km
Today you'll spend the day at Carinthia's most famous bathing lake, Lake Wörthersee. First, cycle to Velden and stroll along the lakeside promenade to the renowned castle hotel. Afterwards, you can choose whether to cycle along the north or south shore of Lake Wörthersee to your destination, Krumpendorf, where you can take a break for a swim.

Departure
After breakfast, you can depart independently or extend your stay. If you have some extra time, we recommend a visit to the state capital, Klagenfurt. If you have booked rental bikes, you can return to Lienz by train. If you are traveling with your own bikes and luggage, we recommend using our transfer service.
