DESCRIPTION:

On this week-long cross-border cycling trip, you follow the "Green Inn" almost always within sight in leisurely daily stages. The Inn Cycle Path leads from the Tyrolean mountains through historic towns and picturesque towns via Bavaria to Upper Austria. The end of the cycle tour is the German border town of Passau: from Tyrol's state capital Innsbruck, the fortified towns of Kufstein and Burghausen, the picturesque baroque towns of Obernberg and Schärding to the thermal resort of Bad Füssing.

Arrival in Innsbruck

Individual arrival to Innsbruck and check-in at the hotel. If you arrive earlier, we recommend a walk through the picturesque old town to the landmark, the famous Golden Roof.

Innsbruck - Kufstein, approx. 50 km + train journey

Shortly after the start of your cycle tour you will reach Hall in Tirol. The historic city, which is well worth seeing, was the center of coin production in the Middle Ages. In nearby Wattens you can visit the famous Swarovski Crystal Worlds. We continue to Brixlegg via the formerly rich town of Schwaz, where silver was once mined. There you board the train and take the train to Kufstein, which is overlooked by a mighty fortress.

Kufstein - Wasserburg, approx. 65 km

Following the Inn cycle path, you will soon pass the German border and reach the Bavarian Alpine foothills. The Inn now becomes wider and you cycle along the dam to Rosenheim. We continue through small towns, partly on causeways, partly through riparian forests and finally to the stage destination Wasserburg. The idyllic medieval town is uniquely located in a bend in the river, 7/8 surrounded by the Inn.

Wasserburg - Mühldorf, approx. 48 km

Today you cycle through small villages past castles and palaces via Gars, Kraiburg and St. Erasmus to Mühldorf am Inn. The medieval center of the old trading town invites you to stroll and linger with its magnificent town houses and arcades.

Mühldorf - Kirchdorf/Inn, approx. 45 km

Today you come via Töging on the Inn cycle path to the well-known pilgrimage sites of Altötting and Marktl. We continue, past the confluence of the Inn and Salzach, to Burghausen with the longest castle complex in Europe. At your destination for the day, Kirchdorf/Inn, you can take a trip to the nearby Braunau Inn with its beautiful, restored old town.

Kirchdorf - Bad Füssing, approx. 35 km

This section leads through the Lower Inn European Reserve. The floodplain landscape with its extraordinary plant diversity is a breeding ground for numerous water birds. A little away from the river you can reach the popular health resort of Bad Füssing. Enjoy the huge health and wellness offerings of the popular health resort.

Bad Füssing - Passau, approx. 35 km by bike + train ride

On the journey to Passau, picturesque baroque towns line up: Obernberg with its beautiful market square, the wonderful Reichersberg Abbey and the baroque town of Schärding with its Silberzeile. At the confluence of the Inn and the Danube, Passau is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.
