DESCRIPTION:

Do your children love cycling? Then go on an eventful family bike tour in Carinthia with your young pedal riders. The Drau cycle path, which has been awarded 5 stars by the ADFC, is particularly family-friendly and offers numerous attractions along the way that are also interesting for kids. The route leads from Lienz in East Tyrol on the edge of the Carinthian Hohe Tauern National Park region to Villach. On this family bike tour there are shorter daily stages of approx. 30 km and therefore enough time to rest, play, swim and for other holiday adventures. The exciting attractions range from climbing parks to swimming lakes and adventure swimming pools. In Villach, the Kärnten Therme thermal baths with lots of adventure slides and the nearby, bright turquoise-green Faak Lake tempt you.

Arrival in Lienz

Individual arrival to Lienz in East Tyrol and check-in at the hotel. If you arrive earlier, we recommend a stroll through the charming city center or a visit to the Lienz Schloßberg with its climbing park and toboggan run.

Lienz - Berg im Drautal, approx. 30 km

From Lienz, the Drau Cycle Path always leads directly along the river to Oberdrauburg. If you take your time and stop briefly on the beautiful wooden bridges, you will notice how the image of the Drava changes. The Lienzer Schloßberg with its climbing park and toboggan run and the Assling adventure world offer variety for the children.

Berg im Drautal - Sachsenburg, approx. 28 km

Your family bike tour today takes you comfortably and always downstream to Sachsenburg. On the way, take a varied break at the climbing garden at the swimming lake in Greifenburg - an adventure paradise for the whole family.

Sachsenburg-Paternion, approx. 29 km

Today, along the Drau Cycle Path in Lendorf, you'll pass Roman excavations worth a stop. In Spittal/Drau, we recommend a rest in the park of the beautiful Renaissance Porcia Castle. Shortly after Spittal, a delicious Carinthian wine tavern awaits, complete with a huge children's playground.

Paternion - Villach, approx. 26 km

The route of your family cycling tour follows the meanders of the Drava River from one side of the valley to the other. You'll soon reach the city center of Villach, where numerous ice cream parlors and cafés beckon. The Kärnten Therme spa in nearby Warmbad Villach offers fun in any weather.

Faaker See / Ossiacher See, approx. 30 km (2nd night in Villach)

Today is yours to enjoy. We recommend a bike ride to a lido at a nearby bathing lake: You can choose from the Silbersee, located directly on the Drava Cycle Path (approx. 10km round trip), the vibrant turquoise-green Faaker See (approx. 15km round trip), or the Ossiacher See (approx. 30km), where you can also take a boat trip. Overnight in Villach.
