The small, bright turquoise-green Faaker See is only 8 km away. You shouldn't miss a trip to a beach (some of which are free) and the fun of swimming in the crystal-clear water. Your kids will also enjoy a trip to the small island in the lake.

The next “must do” is a trip to the deep green Ossiacher See. The Ossiacher See cycle path runs close to the lake and offers many family-friendly attractions: the Family World with climbing park and summer toboggan run, a lake tour on a scheduled boat, several lidos or a short hike up the popular monkey mountain at the Landskron castle ruins, the most beautiful place in Austria.

The famous Wörthersee is also within easy reach. Cycle along the Drau cycle path to Velden am Wörthersee and show your children this famous holiday resort. Alternatively, you can make a detour to Rosegg and visit Carinthia's largest zoo and a small labyrinth. You can use the S-Bahn to return to Villach.

The first section of the Gailtal cycle path leads through nature along the river Gail to an idyllic cyclist's rest stop. On the way back you can make a short detour to the spa town of Warmbad Villach and visit the Kärnten Therme or take a walk to the so-called Maibachl, a hot spring.

Individual journey home or extension. At the end you can make a short detour by car to the monkey mountain near the Landskron castle ruins.
