The Villach region in Carinthia is ideal for an exciting family cycling holiday. A number of attractions for children can be explored along the cycle paths. A particular highlight for children are the nearby Faaker See and Ossiacher See lakes. Beautiful lidos on these two lakes are just 8 kilometers away by bike. A trip to Ossiacher See can be combined with a boat trip and a visit to Family World, an adventure park with a climbing park and a summer toboggan run. Austria's most beautiful spot, the Landskron Castle ruins, can also be seen from the cycle path, and a short hike to the popular Monkey Mountain is also possible.

Faaker See - Drobollach - Faak, approx. 15 - 30 km
The small, bright, turquoise-green Faaker See is only 8 km away. A trip to a lido, such as the Panoramabad Drobollach (free entry), and the fun of swimming in the crystal-clear water are not to be missed.

Ossiacher See round trip, approx. 15 - 30 km
The next "must-do" is a trip to the deep green Lake Ossiach. The Lake Ossiach cycle path runs directly along the lake and offers many family-friendly attractions: Family World in Ossiach with its climbing park and summer toboggan run, a boat trip on the lake, several lidos, and a short hike to the popular Monkey Mountain at Landskron Castle ruins, considered one of the most beautiful places in Austria.

Wörthersee day trip to Velden am Wörthersee, approx. 20 - 25 km
The famous Lake Wörthersee is also within easy reach. Cycle along the Drau Cycle Path to Velden am Wörthersee and show your children this popular resort town. Alternatively, you can make a detour to Rosegg beforehand and visit Carinthia's largest animal park and a small labyrinth. For the return trip to Villach, you can use the S-Bahn (free of charge; bicycle ticket extra).

On the Alpe-Adria cycle path to Schütt, approx. 20 km
The popular Alpe-Adria Cycle Path leads from Villach along the idyllic Gail River to a rest stop for cyclists. On the return journey, you can make a short detour to the spa town of Warmbad Villach. Besides the large Kärnten Therme spa, you can also visit the Maibachl, a hot spring where bathing is sometimes possible.
