Vrhnika - Postojna, approx. 34 km

The Slovenian karst landscape is special, especially because of the rare limestone formations. After an incline of 200 m, you cycle over side streets and karst fields worth seeing. Visit the impressive Rakov Skocjan nature reserve (detour + 10km) with its natural caves and rock bridges before reaching the world-famous Postojna

Postojna - Stanjel, approx. 42 km

Postojna is home to a unique natural wonder, the second largest stalactite caves in the world! Make sure you plan enough time to visit this cave system, which is 24 kilometers long. You should also make a sightseeing stop at Predjama Castle (+6 km) - a knight's castle built into the rock. The best place to taste the region's best wines is in the evening with your host at the farm.

Stanjel - Lipica - Divaca, approx. 48 km

Today's bike tour takes you up (approx. 600m) to a karst plateau through sleepy villages and along inviting vineyards to Lipica. It is home to the world-famous white Lipizzaner horses, whose stud farm you can visit.

Divaca - Trieste - Muggia, about 38 km

After a short climb it really goes downhill! Enjoy the wonderful coastal panorama as you cycle towards the Adriatic up to the Italian border. The former K&K port city of Trieste is only a few kilometers away by bike and is worth a detour, be it for a walk in the harbor or a cappuccino in a piazza. Today you will spend the night in Muggia, Italy, where you can also enjoy Italian cuisine.
