The Drau cycle path is one of the most beautiful in the Alps and has been awarded 5 stars by the German ADFC. Starting from Sillian in East Tyrol you cycle comfortably down the river Drau to the south of Carinthia, almost to the Slovenian border. Enjoy the beauty of the landscape, from the high mountains of the Lienz Dolomites to Lake Klopein, the warmest swimming lake in Europe. Your accommodations are typical inns on this bike tour.

Individual arrival and moving into your accommodation in Sillian in East Tyrol. If you arrive earlier, we recommend taking a bike excursion to the source of the Drau in Toblach in South Tyrol (approx. 30 km).

Sillian - Lienz - Dellach/Greifenburg, approx. 60-65 km
Your cycling tour begins with breathtaking panoramic views of the Dolomites, and you cycle along the Drau Cycle Path to Lienz, the largest town in East Tyrol. After a short stroll through the charming town center, you continue cycling to Dellach or Greifenburg, where you can refresh yourself in a swimming lake.

Dellach/Greifenburg - Sachsenburg/Spittal/Drau. approx. 30-40 km
Partly along the banks of the Drava River, partly through small villages, you cycle to Sachsenburg. Shortly afterwards, you can visit Roman excavations in Lendorf. In Spittal an der Drau, the Renaissance Porcia Castle is worth a visit. Those feeling adventurous can also take a short trip to Seeboden on nearby Lake Millstatt (approx. 10 km round trip).

Sachsenburg/Spittal/Drau - Villach approx. 40-50 km
The Drava Cycle Path leads you today, mostly along the riverbank, to Villach, a city with a southern flair. Experience the lively city with a leisurely coffee in the main square. The beautiful city center invites you to stroll and linger.

Villach - Ferlach, approx. 50 km
We continue along the Drau cycle path past Rosegg, where Carinthia's largest zoo is located. The other highlights on this section of the route are the Feistritzer reservoir, the gunsmith and Carnica bee museum in Ferlach and an optional excursion to the Tscheppaschlucht with its rushing waterfalls.

Enjoy the scenic and unspoiled Rosental valley and its tranquility on today's bike tour. At the end of your cycling trip, Europe's warmest bathing lake, Lake Klopein, awaits – you should definitely test its water quality.
