You start your bike tour accompanied by the panorama of the Dolomites and cycle on the Drau Cycle Path to the largest city in East Tyrol, Lienz. Take time to rest in the enchanting city and enjoy the hustle and bustle. You drive on strengthened and shortly after Nikolsdorf pass the border to Carinthia.

Following the upper Drautal you always cycle along the Drau to Spittal/Drau. The Drau Cycle Path takes you partly along the river bank, partly a bit off the beaten path through smaller villages. In Spittal/Drau you should take the time for a city tour. The Renaissance castle of Porcia is especially worth a visit.

Finally, you cycle comfortably along the natural river bank to the lively district town of Villach, which exudes a Mediterranean atmosphere. The beautiful city center with its cafes and shops invites you to stroll and linger.

Today your canoe tour starts on the Drau and you first cycle to the entry point, where your canoe is already waiting for you and you can start paddling. For your lunch break we recommend the nearby Silbersee where you can swim and have lunch. Then continue paddling to the Rosegg power station, where the first canoe stage ends. You get on your bikes and drive to your accommodation in Rosegg or Mühlbach.

In the morning you cycle to the next Drau entry point in Pulpitsch and get back into your canoe. It goes past the towering rocks on the Drauenge in St. Oswald to Feistritz in the Rosental. To pass the Feistritz power plant you have to carry the canoe a short distance. After that, the Drau is very natural and you can enjoy the flora and fauna of the shore area in peace and quiet. We recommend a lunch break at the Drauwelle Ziggurat nature reserve. The second paddling stage ends in front of the Ferlach power station and you cycle to the gunsmith town of Ferlach.

Today you can paddle from the large Drau entry point in Ferlach to the Völkermarkt reservoir. The drive to the nature reserve at the Drau reservoir is particularly impressive - a paradise for birdwatchers. Leave your canoe at the exit point and cycle to Lake Klopeiner See, where the waters of the warmest bathing lake in Europe await you at the end of your tour.
