DESCRIPTION:

The nature experience in Carinthia - canoeing on the Drau. Explore Carinthia's largest river and its flora and fauna from the water on this three-day canoe tour. From Villach you paddle on the leisurely flowing Drau through the beautiful, natural Rosental to Ferlach. The route continues to the nature reserve at the Völkermarkt reservoir, which is an ideal place for bird watching. This is followed by a transfer to the hotel on Lake Klopein, where you can enjoy swimming in Europe's warmest swimming lake.

How to get there

Individual arrival in Villach and check-in at the hotel. The day is free to explore Villach. Stroll through the city center or visit the spacious Kärnten Therme in Warmbad Villach (entry with the Villach Adventure Card from 16.00 p.m. included)

Villach - Rosegg / Mühlbach, approx. 15 km

After breakfast you will be brought to the Drau entry point, where your canoe will be waiting. The first paddling break is planned at the nearby Silbersee. There you can swim and also have a lunch snack (bookable for a surcharge, on the tour without a guide). Then you paddle on to the Rosegg power station, where the first canoe stage ends. Transfer to your next accommodation.

Rosegg / Mühlbach - Ferlach, approx. 25 km

In the morning transfer to the next boarding point in Pulpitsch. You pass the towering cliffs on the Drauge in St. Oswald to Feistritz in the Rosental. The canoes have to be carried a short distance to pass the Feistritz power station. Afterwards the Drau is very natural and you can enjoy the flora and fauna of the bank area in peace. We recommend a lunch break at the Drauwelle Ziggurat nature reserve. Today's tour ends in front of the Ferlach power station and you will be taken to Ferlach.

Ferlach - Völkermarkter Stausee / Klopeinersee, approx. 25 km

Transfer to the next entry point, from where you will paddle to the large Völkermarkt reservoir today. This trip in the nature reserve of the Drau reservoir is particularly impressive - a paradise for birdwatching. You will then be taken to your hotel on Lake Klopein. Relax in the warmest swimming lake in Europe and enjoy the crystal clear water.
