You cycle through wonderful national parks and enjoy the wide views, the polders, the winding dikes, cliffs and wooded dams. Arrival to Huizen

Individual arrival in Huizen, where your start hotel is located in the harbor district. The day is at leisure.

Huizen - Amsterdam - Volendam/Katwoude, approx. 60 km

On the first day of cycling, you will cycle along the south bank of the IJsselmeer via Muiden to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, where you can optionally spend an additional night (8-day option). Behind the central train station you can take a ferry to the cozy Waterland with bird-rich Veen pastures and old watercourses. You can get to Volendam by boat or via Monnickendam. Overnight stay at the harbor dike or at the Katwoude mill.

Volendam/Katwoude - Edam - Enkhuizen, approx. 50km

You drive over the old Zuiderzee dike through the cheese town of Edam and the picturesque Hoorn with its well-known, imposing buildings from the “Golden Century”. In Enkhuizen you should plan a city tour and visit the Zuiderzee Museum.

Enkhuizen - Stavoren - Oudemirdum/Lemmer, approx. 40/45 km

You'll take the ferry across the IJsselmeer to the Frisian town of Stavoren (not included in the price). From there, you can enjoy wonderful excursions to the picturesque town of Hindeloopen. You'll then cycle through the wooded, gently rolling landscape of Gaasterland to Oudemirdum. Your hotel is booked either on the Brink or in the harbor town of Lemmer.

Oudemirdum / Lemmer - Giethoorn, approx. 60/45 km

Today we pass the Lemmer steam pumping station and cross the Weerribben National Park, a unique peat area with its own flora and fauna. Your destination today is Giethoorn, the “Venice of the North”, with countless arched bridges, boats and farms with thatched roofs.

Giethorn - Nunspeet, approx. 60km

From Giethoorn you steer your bike to the Hanseatic city of Kampen on the IJssel River. Via the fortress town of Elburg and past small lakes you reach Nunspeet, on the edge of the largest forest in the Netherlands: the Veluwe.

Nunspeet - Huizen and departure or extension, approx. 60 km

On the last day of cycling, you will pass through the old port town of Harderwijk and the fishing village of Spakenburg. You will return to Huizen through the wide Eempolder. Individual departure or optional booking of an extra night in Huizen.
