DESCRIPTION:

On this enjoyable bike tour, you can get to know the beautiful surroundings of the Carinthian National Park region Hohe Tauern as well as the wonderful bathing lakes in the border triangle of Villach. You will stay in a bike hotel for 3 nights and can go on day trips every day as you please. From your first location in Sachsenburg, you can, for example, take trips along the Drau cycle path to Oberdrauburg or along the Alpe-Adria cycle path to Obervellach or Mallnitz. For the outward journey, we suggest using the S-Bahn to save time and energy. You should definitely not miss the trip around the nearby picturesque Lake Millstatt. The Drau cycle path then continues to Villach, where you will stay in your second accommodation for 2 days. The lively city offers cycle paths in all directions and you can go on very attractive bike tours. A classic is the trip around the nearby bathing lakes, Lake Ossiach and the turquoise-green Lake Faak.

Millstätter See tour, approx. 60 km

Today's optional bike tour first takes you to Seeboden on the beautiful Millstätter See. On the 30 km long cycle path around the lake you will get to know the untouched nature of the south bank as well as the beauties of the surrounding towns, such as Millstatt or Döbriach.

Drau cycle path from Lienz/ Oberdrauburg 46-70km

Today, explore the Drau cycle path without expending too much energy and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. Take the S-Bahn (ticket not included) to the beautiful district capital of Lienz in East Tyrol (approx. 70km) or Oberdrauburg (approx. 46km) and cycle back along the banks of the Drau.

Sachsenburg - Villach, approx. 52 km

A change of quarters is on the agenda today. On the Drau Cycle Path you cycle comfortably, mostly downstream, directly on the banks of the Drau to Villach, in the city with southern flair. During a stopover in Spittal/Drau, be sure to visit the beautiful Renaissance Castle of Porcia.

Ossiacher See tour, approx. 45 km

From Villach you cycle along the Seebach to Lake Ossiach. The cycle path runs directly along the lake with a view of the Landskron castle ruins, then via Sattendorf and Bodensdorf you continue to Ossiach, where the baroque Ossiach collegiate church is worth a visit. Other attractions are the Bleistätter Moor nature reserve and the architectural gem Steinhaus.

Faaker See tour, approx. 35 km

Today we recommend a bike ride to the idyllic Faaker See with a small island in the middle of the lake. You shouldn't miss out on a stay at one of the lidos and the fun of swimming in the bright turquoise-green water.
