On your way from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea you cross two countries and many different regions. Enjoy the amazing landscapes, the cultural centre Salzburg, the glaciers, the Carinthian lakes, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the laguna of Grado at the northern end of the bay of Venice.

Individual arrival in Salzburg and check.

Salzburg - Bischofshofen/St. Johann, about 53 km

The first part of your way will lead you through Hallein and Golling to Luegg. There you can find a nice inn for having a break. Across the castle Hohenwerfen you reach Bischofshofen/St.Johann. Plan an excursion to the impressive glacier caves. (approx. 4 hours)

Bischofshofen/St. Johann - Mallnitz, about 53 km

Along the river Salzach you cycle to the junction to Gasteiner Tal. Going uphill you reach Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein, Bad Gastein and further Böckstein. Take the train (Tauernschleuse) to Mallnitz.

Mallnitz - Möllbrücke/Sachsenburg, about 41 km

You cycle downhill to Obervellach. Follow the cycle path along the river Möll downstream to today's destination Möllbrücke or Sachsenburg.

Möllbrücke/Sachsenburg - Villach, about 55 km

You cycle along the Drava cycle path to Villach, the city with the southern flair. In Spittal visit the wonderful renaissance castle Porcia.

Villach - Tarvisio /Camporosso, about 40 km

Follow the cycle path along river Gail to Arnoldstein, cross the italian border near Thörl-Maglern and keep on cycling to Tarvisio.

Tarvisio/Camporosso - Moggio Udinese/Venzone, about 50-65 km

Today you cycle through a valley - the "Canal del Ferro". Enjoy the beauties of the Friulian Alps with its intact nature.

Moggio Udinese/Venzone - Udine, about 58 km

The wine determines your trip today. Hills of vineyards invite you to taste one or the other droplet. Udine with it's venetian flair impresses with its gothic and rennaisance buidlings.

Udine - Grado, about 59 km

Across water channels and the roman city Aquileia you reach Grado. Grado is a historic fisher-village and very popular bathing resort.

Grado - day of rest or culture

Today you have the choice; relax by the sea or visit Aquileia also namend the "second Rome".

Individual departure or transfer by bus from Grado to Salzburg.
